Website built with Elementor AI is slow

Pages take a long time to load, mostly on phones. AI layouts tend to stack many widgets, large images and extra add-ons. A few cleanup steps make a big difference.

Symptoms

  • PageSpeed Insights gives a low score on mobile
  • Content jumps around while the page loads
  • The site feels slow even on fast internet
  • You have several Elementor add-on plugins installed

Why it happens

AI page builders make layouts by stacking sections, containers and widgets. Every one of them adds code. They also pick large images and sometimes add a plugin just for one effect.

On a fast laptop you barely notice. On a phone, the browser has to download and process all of it before the page settles. That is where most of your visitors are.

Try this first

  1. Measure before you change anything

Run your home page and your main service page through PageSpeed Insights. Write down the mobile score and the Largest Contentful Paint time, so you can tell if your changes help.

  2. Resize and convert images

Make images the size they actually show on screen, and use WebP. An image optimization plugin can do this for your whole media library.

  3. Remove add-ons you barely use

List every Elementor add-on plugin. If one is only used for a single widget, replace that widget with a standard one and remove the plugin.

  4. Turn on Elementor performance features

In the Elementor settings, look at the Features and Performance options. Options that load only the assets a page needs can cut a lot of weight. Test the site after each change.

  5. Add caching

Use a caching plugin or your host’s built-in cache. Ask your host if they offer server caching. It is often the fastest option.

When to stop and call a person

Call a person if the score stays low after these steps, if your hosting is the bottleneck, or if the main templates need to be rebuilt with fewer sections. Rebuilding a few key templates often fixes speed for good.

Questions people ask

Do I need to leave Elementor?

Usually not. Most Elementor sites can be made fast with clean layouts, good images and caching.

Which score should I aim for?

Do not chase 100. Aim for pages that load quickly and do not jump around on a normal phone. That is what visitors notice.
